My story

I burned out.

Not slowly. The way physicians often do—quietly, completely, and while still showing up for everyone else.

I had spent years learning how to heal people. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I forgot to find something that healed me.

That something was always writing.

I have been a poet since before I was anything else. Words were how I made sense of a world that never quite seemed built for the way my mind works. I am neurodivergent, Arabian and African, and I have spent most of my life moving between worlds that each claimed a part of me without ever quite feeling like home.

So I built one.

Saffron Dreams is the tea shop I needed. Like Saffron in Sunlight is the book I searched for and couldn’t find — warm, unhurried, rooted in a world drawn from my own heritage, written in the poetic cadence that has always been my truest voice.

I write for the person who is tired in a way sleep doesn’t fix. The one who grew up losing hours inside stories and forgot they were allowed to do that anymore. The neurodivergent dreamer. The quietly overwhelmed human. The inner child still waiting for someone to say: Come in, sit down, you’re safe here.

This book is for you.

It is the book I wish I could have found when I needed it most.

And now I’m gifting it to you. 🍵

For me, writing is life. Always has been, always will be.

And life, I’ve learned, is worth slowing down for.
